GASPAR, Manuel Mendes "Manny"

Passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2021 at the age of 68 surrounded by his loving family, having fought a brave battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Catherine (Roberts). Loving father of Christine (Rob) Gaspar-Houle, Melissa Silva Gaspar and Nicolas Gaspar. Proud grandpa of Jillian Houle. Dear brother of Fernando and wife Laura Gaspar. Dear uncle of Michael (Susan), Fernando and great uncle of Gemma. Predeceased by his parents Manuel and Julia Gaspar. Dear brother-in-law of Louise (Ron) Bowers and Henry (Barbara) Roberts. Fondly remembered by cousins João (Caroline) Martinho and Juca (Georgina) Martinho as well as many relatives and friends in Portugal. Manuel came to Canada in 1973 and worked for many years as an operating engineer. His retirement hobbies included get togethers with family and friends, gardening and travel. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Due to Covid-19 restrictions you must RSVP to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass at www.geraldasmith.ca. Masks are required to attend. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 12, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday September 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church 120 Munger St. W. Harrow Interment at Colchester Memorial Cemetery.
