Dear John and Janet: I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Edith. She and Edwin were among my favourite customers at the Copper Kettle Restaurant. They were always so pleasant and a joy to have as guests. Edwin use to call me Julia and we often shared a laugh about that. I will miss her smiling face and pleasant conversation.

Edith was a true champion of local history. She was instrumental in the success of many local history projects, and always made herself available to assist others in their research. She will be missed and remembered fondly in the heritage community. Sending sincere condolences to Edith's family and friends.

We would like to say how sorry we are to hear about Edith’s passing. Your mother seemed to me to an intricate part of the history of this town and area. It seemed over the years she was involved with so many aspects of our community. She was a lovely lady. And she will be missed. Our condolences to John, Janet and your family. Bill and Judy Salisbury

Edith became an integral part of the SPRESKA effort to preserve the Kingsville Railway Station in 1993-4 when she made HEIRS micofilm and milcrofilm reader availble to me in my prepration for the Heritage Tribunal in March 1994. She understood the power of a few who stepped up for the preservation of significant heritage — for the right reasons and at the right time.
I have only fond memories of the time I got to share with her and her group at HEIRS. Rest in peace my friend.

To Edith’s family,
I am so sorry to hear about Edith’s passing. I was very fortunate to have Edith’s enthusiastic help and access to her limitless knowledge when I wrote the Colchester 225 book for the Town of Essex’s Canada 150 celebration in 2017. Her computer skills were impressive and the guided tour she took me on was quite memorable. Edith sparked my imagination and enriched my knowledge of local history immeasurably. I will remember her with great fondness, knowing that we were kindred spirits for a time.

To Woodbridge family; Edith and I have been friends for over 50 years! I'm going to miss her phone calls and hearing the Hello! Hello! Hello! We have shared a lot of special moments over the years. Especially checking on Quick Cemetery and Ferriss Cemetery. My children recall visiting the family farm and watching the dog climb the ladder! We have shared phone calls until quite recently and Edith was always interested in Heirs! She encouraged me to become the 1st American member of Heirs! I look forward to the Heirs Newsletter each issue. Just want the family to know Edith's friendship will remain a very pleasant memory for me.

Edith had a profound impact on my life in encouraging me to research my Essex County roots back to several early Loyalist families. I have in turn been able to help others & this is just a small sample of Edith being the teacher & encourager and we being her pupils. Her legacy will live on in multiple ways. Our heartfelt condolences to Edith's family & to all those whom she touched.
