I'm finding this out years late due to searching for Dr. Gatfield. I'm so sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. I remember him well because I was a young child and very sick. He was my doctor and I do recall his kindness and gentle care. I'm 54 years old now but I will NEVER forget this wonderful doctor/man. His eyes and smile lit up a room. His voice was soothing. As a terrified child, that sure left a memory that I will never forget. Thank you Dr. Gatfield!

I have just learned of Bills passing. Bill was a very good friend of mine, who will be sadly missed. Thinking of him brings back many fond memories associated with his medical practice and playing golf. "Wednesdays with Bill" playing golf at Essex were wonderful times. I relied on his expertise in pediatric care for many young patients over many years and Bill always had the right answers for the care of the little ones.
I am very happy that I knew him and am very sorry to have heard of his passing. Bob and Marian

Approximately fifty years ago, Dr. Gatfield diagnosed, treated and saved the life of our son, Jamie. We brought him into the emergency at Hotel Dieu from our home in Leamington. Thanks to his skill and care, Jamie is now a healthy, grown man of 53. We were indeed blessed and eternally grateful for having him for a doctor. Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with you in your great loss. Sincerely, Louise and Bob Cornies

My condolences to Mrs. Gatfield and the whole Gatfield family.
Dr.Gatfield had a zest for life which I have admired from first meeting him. One clear memory I have is Dr. Gatfield cheerfully out barbecuing in the winter, long before the age of outdoor kitchens!
I am so sorry for your loss.
sincerely,
Debbie

My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Garfield and family....in my 35 years of nursing, I have yet to meet a doctor more caring, compassionate and kind to patients, families and nursing staff than Dr. Garfield was. Bless him...may your wonderful memories give you comfort in your sadness.......Patricia Kennedy

I was so sad to read of the passing of Dr Gatfiled. He was my paediatrician as a child and also caring doctor to my three boys. We saw him often even after he no longer practiced when we would meet up at the golf coarse and he would stop to chat for a few minutes. He was such a calm, living and caring person. He will be missed.
