Obituary of Daniel James

95 years. Passed away July 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Port Huron, MI, late of Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Beloved husband and best friend of 59 years to the late Eleanor Estelle (Bruner) (2010). Beloved father of (the late Thomas) and Cynthia James, Westland, MI., Linda Atkins, Amherstburg, Charles and Adele James, Clinton Twp., MI., Joyce and John Stefanski, Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Loving grandpa of 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Samuel James and Rachel Jane Fisher. Predeceased by six brother and three sisters. Daniel served in active duty overseas in the Army-Air Force during WWII; he was an Engineer-Technician at GM, retiring with 28 years of service. Daniel was also an administrator- owner of nursing homes for 28 years in Michigan. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Visitation Friday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Daniel’s life will be held Saturday July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Staples officiating.
