Obituary of Katie McLean

MCLEAN, Katie (Pocantos) 64 years, received her “Guardian Angel Wings” on May 14, 2016. She married her soulmate Ledson McLean on May 19, 1973. Loving and proud mother of Vicki (boyfriend Russ) and James. Her life was enriched with the arrival of her first and only grandchild Logan Shaw. They had an undeniable bond that will never be broken. Survived by her mother Magdalena and special friend Cal. Predeceased by her father Joseph (1987). Loving sister of Hilda (Pete), Enne, Rosemary, late Tom (2009) and Elisabeth. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. She had a flare for creative projects and enjoyed a sales career at Duncan’s Furniture. Her most rewarding achievement was daycare services for several children she cared for over the years. She gave such love and devotion to these kids and treated them like her own. Max, Kim and Maverick were special additions to her family. Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. A Celebration of Katie’s Life will be held on Thursday May 19, 2016 where family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. to continue visiting until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Janisse officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to an RESP trust fund for her grandson Logan.
