Obituary of Maria Furtado

Passed away peacefully on June 7, 2011 at Hotel Dieu Hospital surrounded by her loving family at the age of 78 years. Beloved wife of 50 years to Manuel Pacheco Furtado. Loving mother of Manuel (Hirinda) Benevides, Portugal, Mario (Susie) Furtado, Harrow, Joe (Madalena) Furtado, Barrie. Loving avo to Sonia (Luis), Rui, Henrique, Phillip (Haley), Cecilia (Desi), Bobbi-Lynn (Kenson), Christopher, Kevin, Sammi and 8 great grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Conceiao and Cizaltina. Predeceased by her parents Virginia and Manuel Pacheco Medeiros, sisters Maria Dos Anjos, Beatriz, Maria Jos and her brother Jos. Dear sister-in-law of Durvalina (the late Eugene) Mare, Jos (Conceiao) Furtado, Frank (Filomena) Furtado, and the late Joo (Cidalia) Furtado. Predeceased by her mother-in-law and father-in-law Maria Da Paixo and Manuel Joo Furtado. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Visitation Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Thursday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Friday June 10, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. then to St. Anthony of Padua Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
