in her 83rd year. Passed away on July 13, 2009. Loving sweetheart of 62 years to George. Dearly loved mother and best friend to Sherleen (Chris) Smithson and Susan (Stephen) Burke. Much loved gramma to Christopher (Ashley), Joshua, and Faith Smithson and David (Angela), Aaron (Jessica), Kirsten (Andy) and Alicia Burke. "G.G." to 5 loving great grandchildren. Predeceased by her "wonderful" parents Sherwood and Kathleen Goatbe and brothers, Lawrence, Jack and Lynwood. Bettie leaves a legacy of a quiet faith, determined spirit, quick humour, deep family love, love of all creatures furry and feathered and a creative touch that included her gardening, floral arrangements, assorted home renovations and her most favorite-teaching and making ceramics with the many friends she enjoyed through that activity. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 15, 2009 at the Harrow Baptist Church. The funeral will immediately follow with Pastor Stephen Todd officiating.
