Obituary of Frank Lawrence Wood
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Wood of Harrow on January 26, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Marie (Martin) for 47 years. Cherished father of Wayne and Linda Wood, Kansas City, MO., Robert and Rachelle Wood, London, Dale and Kristin Wood, Harrow. Loved and adored grandpa of Talia, Tyrus, Danielle, Joelle, Cassidy and Courtney. Dads grandchildren were his pride and joy and he delighted in their every word. Predeceased by his parents Frank (1959) and Mina (Nichol) (1973). Dear brother-in-law of Ralph and Eleanor Martin. Dear uncle of Gord and Shannon Martin, Brent and Joanne Beck. Dear great uncle of Sierra, James, Colleen and Dylan. Larry retired in 1991 from GM Trim Plant, where he was employed for 26 years. Very active in the Harrow Community, Larry was both a coach and on the Board of Directors of the Harrow Minor Baseball and Hockey clubs and for 13 years was on the Town of Harrow council, as Councilor and Deputy Reeve. A 50 Year member and past Master of King Edward Lodge No. 488 A. M. & F. M. of Canada. Larry was also a member of St. Georges Lodge No. 41, King Cyrus Chapter R.A.M.G.R.C. No. 19, Lodge of Perfection, Rose Croix, Consistory of Scottish Rite 32nd degree Hamilton, Mocha Shriners of London, Sun Parlour Shrine Club and the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of the Jerusalem (Knights Templar). We will miss dads humour, optimism, love and support. We are blessed that we were able to spend a wonderful Christmas with dad and that he was able to bask in the love of his family. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Visitation on Monday 7-9 p.m., Tuesday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Masonic service Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate Larrys life will be held on Wednesday January 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church 210 King St. E. Harrow with Rev. Christine Downey officiating. Interment at Christ Church Colchester. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Anglican Church or the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
