93 years. Peacefully Monday June 29, 2009. Late of the Sun Parlor Home, Leamington formerly of Colchester. Beloved husband of the late Lucille (Taylor) (1977) and the late Marie (Case) (1999). Loving father of Carol Ann and John Sparkes, Richmond Hill. Beloved brother of Marwood (Bud) and Donna Bondy, Essex, Jean, Mrs. Charles Halpert, Windsor, Effie, Mrs. David Botsford, Amherstburg, Norreen Mrs. William (Dusty) Voegeli, Amherstburg, Reta, Mrs. Julius Van Den Driessche, Harrow, Robena, Mrs. Robert Anderson, Amherstburg. Predeceased by his step son Allan Armstrong (1996), brothers Robert (2003), Glenn (1975), Eric (1960), Boyd (1980), Norris (1993) and his sisters Marion (2005) and Doris, Mrs. Ernest Brimner (1939). Also remembered by several nieces and nephews. John was born and raised on the family farm in Colchester South. He was a commercial fisherman for 25 years. The rest of his working life John worked at Conklin lumber and Harrow lumber company. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Visitation on Friday July 3, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Steadman officiating. Cremation to follow.
