Obituary of Edwin Thrasher

89 years. Passed away Friday September 25, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Late of the Sunparlour Home Leamington, formerly of Harrow. Beloved husband of Marian (Corcoran). Loving father of Harold and Jerri Thrasher, Ted Thrasher, Toronto, Bill and Joan Thrasher, Windsor, Bill and Louise Gall, Harrow, Bobby and Susann Thrasher, Chelsea, MI, Peter Thrasher, Windsor, Jonathan Thrasher, Harrow. Loving grandpa of Katie, Bill, Stephanie, Edwin, Erin, Nathan, Megann, Lucas, Teddy, Jimmy, Matthew, Blake and Jacob. Loving great grandpa of Ruby, Wesley and Zoe. Dear step brother of Marvin, Otis, and Nancy. Predeceased by his sister Joanie Coates (2003) and half brother Robert Friedle (2003). Besides his family, Ed loved duck hunting, fishing and travelling the world. Ed owned and operated Thrashers Hatchery for 40+ years. He then became an insurance advisor for Sun Life of Canada until his retirement, and was recipient of numerous achievement awards. He was a valued member and past president of the Harrow Rotary Club. In later years he travelled to Nigeria to assist with poultry and egg production. Resting at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow. Visitation Monday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at Christ Church Colchester on Tuesday September 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Christine Downey officiating. Interment at Christ Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Parkinson Society.
