Obituary of Rudolph Papke

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Rudy Papke at the age of 88 years on Sunday, July 3, 2011 peacefully with family by his side. Late of Harrow. He was a beloved husband to Bernice (Ackerman) for 60 years and a proud and loving father to Kathy (Larry) Babcock, Celia (Ted) Klassen, Wendy (Keith) Edgington, David, Kristen (Jon Hambly) and Jana (Dennis Flaming). Rudy will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Tyler (Cheryl Olsen), Jennifer (Dave Hunt), Lise, Nicole, Bradley, Cameron and Devan. He also enjoyed his great-grandchildren Danielle and Andrea Hunt. He will be greatly missed by his sisters and their families; Martha Whipple, Elsa Brush, Hilda Klassen and the late Margaret Ulch. Rudy was an active, life-long member of the Harrow Mennonite Church. He loved the outdoors in both his work as a farmer and in his passion for windsurfing and hunting. His caring, gentle, fun-loving manner will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial visitation will be held at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow on Tuesday July 5, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Rudys life will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at the Harrow Mennonite Church 3167 Walker Rd. Harrow, with Pastor Greg Yantzi officiating. A private family graveside service was held at Greenhill Cemetery.
