Obituary of Donald McLean

Passed away peacefully at Leamington Hospital September 12 2012 at 90 years. Loving husband and best friend of Roberta (Haggins) for 64 years. Dear father of Donna (Larry) Taylor, Charlotte (1952), Katherine (Terry) Mulder, Annabel (Carl) Grant. Dear grandfather of Jason (Lynn), Justin (Sarah), Sarah (Zac), Raymond, Jeffrey (Michelle), Shawn (D.J.), Chris (Lori), Mike. Great grandfather to Cody and Sawyer, Taeya, Katie, MacKenzie and Samantha. Dear brother of Murray (Wilma) McLean, Brother-in-law of Evelyn McLean, Nev (Mary) Haggins, Viv (Jeanne) Haggins, Predeceased by his brother Ray (Merna) McLean, Allen McLean and sisters Shirley (Roy) Herniman, Alma (Wally) Townsend and Leah (Charles) McDonald and Howard Haggins. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Don raised Jersey cattle and farmed crops his entire life. He was a member of Harrow United Church, Honorary Director of Harrow & Colchester South Fair Board. He was inducted into the Essex County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2006. Don was an active member of Harrow Senior’s Club and loved a good game of pepper. Visitation at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow Friday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held on Saturday September 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Colchester Memorial Cemetery.
