I would be there to pay my respects, but I have the flu. I remember Anna and George fondly. George and I would chat, sitting on lounge chairs, while Anna was busy planting, gathering flowers or doing something with the soil. Her hands were always black with earth, but because of her smile you never noticed. If she wasn't busy in the earth she was busy in the house. You have to realize, George was a little laid back( because Anna allowed to be) and spent a lot of his time lounging while Anna worked. Every time I was present and George would call to her to get some eggs, she would eventually show herself, with a smile for me and a sparkle in her eye for George. I remember the first time I brought my 40+ year old daughter with me to get eggs. As soon as George was introduced, I practically evaporated. George loved Anna but he also like the opposite sex. Anna didn't seem to mind because she knew him better than he knew himself. Both Anna and George I hold in high esteem. They were from another time and place, worlds away from the nonsense of today's world. They knew true love, hard work, sacrifice and respect. I can only image the remarkable life lessons they passed on to their children. This world has lost two beautiful human beings that can never be replaced. I remember George telling me something unique about both he and Anna's birthdates but I can recall right now. In the future, whenever I have eggs, I will vicariously find myself chatting with George, awaiting my egg delivery from Anna. God bless them both. Wyman Atkinson
