What sad news to hear of a wonderful nurse and fellow colleague's passing. I worked with Cyndy from the moment she entered the world of the Operating Room in her professional career. My little "Cindy Lou Who" is what I called her for years at work in the Operating Room at Western and then later at Met Campus. Cyndy was a kind person, who was always there as an advocate for her patients. We used to tease when we were on call together as the "Bad News Bears". We would ALWAYS be busy but our shifts went fast and we worked well together as a team. We saved many lives, had many sleepless nights on call but lots of laughs at the same time. No one could laugh with that deep husky laugh like she had!!
If a patient was going "sour" she was the one you wanted in your room by your side helping. When I moved on into an educator / manager role, Cyndy was very supportive & willing to learn & try new things. She was an asset in the Operating Room & again when she left to work in the Pacu/Recovery Room. Here again, she excelled at her profession...always growing...always learning.
It is with great sadness that I will not be able to attend her celebration of life in February as I am out of country. Rest assured, I will raise a toast to a kind and loving person, who will be missed in this world. Rest quietly now & be at peace my "Cindy Lou Who"

Deepest condolences to the family. I became friends with Cynthia at Ravine many years ago. During the off season she would come into Windsor and spend the weekend at our home. Although I have not seen her in a long time...I still think of her often when dusting the Birthday Angel she gave me for my 13th birthday. Rest in peace Cynthia.
