We are so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was such a nice lady and a great friend to our mother (Mima Harrison) before she passed in 2011. Maybe now they're back to playing cards again. Hugs

To "The Ford Boys" and their Families, our sincere condolences on the passing of your Mother. She was a fantastic and special Lady. I have fond memories of chatting with her around the kitchen table during snowy afternoons on the 4th Concession, her kind insights and quick wit. Thinking of all of you and your families during this difficult time.

Condolences to all the Ford ‘boys’ from Linda Zack (McGinnis) & family
Thanks to your mom, Aunt Shirley to me, I have the fondest memories of summer visits to your family farm – you boys full of energy and mischief and your mom patiently filling the kitchen with her baking and enough food for her little army. To visit with Shirley was my mother’s (Aunt Dot’s) favourite outing in any season. The large Christmas celebrations enjoyed by our extended families were chaotic but joyful, especially for us kids. Your mom was instrumental in making these gatherings so successful.
When our kids were very young and we visited my mother in Windsor, we occasionally stopped in to see Shirley in her home. Her resilience and good humour never failed her, despite her painful health challenges. More recently, when communicating by telephone, it was clear that her positive outlook and determination helped to carry her through the loss of Bruce and the passing of dear friends. Just before this past Christmas, your mom told me about the celebrations that were planned and how much she looked forward to visiting with everyone, especially the youngsters she does not see often. To my knowledge, her spirit never failed her.
Your mom was one gutsy, optimistic woman and I hope, as I age, that I can live up to the standard she has set for the rest of us.
Megan, Brendan, Doug, and I have made a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Shirley’s memory. Our thoughts are with you as you say goodbye to her.
