David was one of the wittiest and sincere people I've ever come across. For honest advice, a great friend and funny guy you didn't have to look any further.
That was just for those of us lucky enough to know him online.
You could not hear a dad talk with more pride about their son, you could always hear the smile and pride that he had when sharing with us what Nathan had been up to, be it on the pitch or off.
Thank you for sharing your Dad and Husband with us.
Ryan

Tracey and family, I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I have so many childhood memories of David. I can literally say that we grew up together. David lived three houses down from me. I remember playing street hockey, baseball and football at the Waterplant in Colchester. Also, spent many days playing basketball in my yard. He and I played volleyball and basketball together all through school. David was an outstanding athlete, always kind, respectful and a great friend. Remember and cherish all of the great memories and know that you will see him again.

Deepest sympathies to the Cherry family.
Nathan, I have heard you grow up through your fathers words. He spoke with such pride and admiration, but never bragged. You lit up his world, and I could hear that every time we spoke. With every tear you have, be sure to celebrate him by remembering all of the good times you shared. The wisdom he passed to you will be with you for life. I spoke with your father almost daily for 13 years, and can honestly say he was my best friend whom I had never met.
He has touched more lives than people know, will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
Locust, I look forward to the day we meet. Until then, watch over us all.

David has always been one of those special people. His relationship with his Dad, all the love and care he had, and did, for him when he was so very ill, in spite of his very young age, showed this very much. The family here in England will always remain eternally grateful for this, as being so far from Dad, when he needed us most, was very difficult to cope with. So you have a special place in our hearts always David, a lot of fun to be with and an all round and a thouroughly nice person and we are so sorry you have been taken from us so soon.
With all our love Tracy and Nathan. God bless you always.

Nathan,
When you speak of your dad, do not speak with tears, for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let the memories of all the times you shared give you comfort, for his life was rich because of you.

My heart goes out to you Tracy and Nathan and all who loved Dave. I only met Dave once at a school social gathering but saw the love you shared as a family and know there are so many happy memories and adventures to cherish. I loved hearing about your travels to England last summer and all the once in a lifetime soccer adventures. We are thinking of you at this difficult time and celebrate Dave's life of love and family.

Dear Cousin Tracy and Family,
Words Cannot Express Our Sorrow In Such Unexpected Great Loss.
Although we cannot offer condolences in person and due to age and distance, with now relocated to Niagara Falls to be near family during our “Golden Years”, we always hold you and your siblings in our hearts. I Don, being the son of your Great Aunt Verlie {(Dube) 1904-2005} and my spouse Patricia often reminisce of past years and cherish the moments we had with your Dad & Mom.
We, and our family Lynne & Wayne, certainly are by your side in Spirit and Prayer.

My deepest condolences to the family of David Cherry. I knew David through Harrow Baptist Church even before entering High School with him. He was well known for his athletic achievements and I had the pleasure of playing basketball with him. I knew him to be a very personable guy always quick to lend encouragement and portrayed a positive friendly attitude. I was saddened to hear of his untimely passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you all as you celebrate his life and grieve this tragic loss.

Dear Family and Friends of David,
I am deeply saddened. My heartfelt and deepest sympathies for each and every person whose lives David has touched. I will always cherish my first year in high school when David being in grade 12. He was an amazing mentor and encouragement to me in volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field. He spent so much time helping train us all. I looked up to him and admired his same passion for sports as well as academically. He always acknowledged others with kindness no matter who they were. He was a friend to anyone who knew him.
