I just read on this site that Harry passed away this last spring. I have many memories of him as a fellow minister. I first knew him as a fellow student in a class at Huron College and talked with him many times in our ministry years. Then when I was rector at Colchester I got to know his parents well andhad more contact with him, as he often visited them. I remember him phoning me when he found out I was going to Colchester and congratulated me on going there as he thought it was one of the best parishes in the diocese. And it was. We have many happy memories of our time there. When he had some trouble in the church and had to leave Hanover he came home and he and I talked often to help him through it. When I left Colchester he became an interim minister there for a year or so and I think he did well.
It was sad to see him having difficulties the last few times I met him (one was at a special anniversary celebration of the church in Colchester). He was then in Harrowood. And then even more difficult times in the last few years. I too remember his love of music, and astronomy, and his faith. Now he is at peace.

My condolences are extended to Harry's family in this loss. Harry was my parish priest in Hanover in the early 90's, and two things immediately stand out for me about his ministry there: The first was his sense of awe and wonder at the universe and the God who created it; the second was the eloquence with which he identified the confusion, fear, and sadness felt by us all when the first Gulf War broke out. I know that his last few years have been characterized by a variety of difficulties, and pray that he now rests in peace.

David and I are so saddened to hear of Harry's passing on the same day as his cousin, our mother Violet Richmond! She and Ron really loved and respected him. He assisted in a warm and caring family oriented service for Ron's funeral in 1999 at Christ Church Colchester. We also will remember his love for astronomy and music. We are comforted that he is no longer suffering and is with his parents, Ron, Violet and his God.

My condolences to Harry's family. I have been a member of Southern Trinity Parish all my life. Harry was kind and supportive of the parishioners. He visited our home when our son was born. Harry also listened to us sing songs from our Easter performances when at Harrowood. I know he has been in poor health for many years and is now at peace. Thinking of you.,- Susan Hutchins & Robert McCloskey, Gwendolyn & Bryce (former St. Alban's)

I light a candle in memory of an old friend with whom I shared many hours over the last 15 years. We were fellow members of WSO Chorus and travelled to practices together. We both enjoyed conversing about our faith together. Harry was very bright and knowledgeable. I was concerned for years about his health and I am so sad that he suffered more in the last 3 years. One thing I will always remember. Harry loved astronomy and talked about the cosmos. He said he found the whole cosmos so amazing that it is easy to believe that a Cosmic God who created all that beauty would always help us. He saw the love in the creation of the total universe by a loving God. I will always remember him and his thoughts. My sincere condolences to all of Harry's extended family, especially to his brother,Tam.
