I Extend Sincerest Sympathy To Family and Memories Abound Of Ray.
We were co-workers at the Clark Plant in Harrow, Ontario with he as a Foreman in the Retort Room and I working in the Powerhouse since 1956 to eventually become Chief Engineer of that plant by 1966, the first and the only person who had been born in Harrow to achieve that position in the history of the plant. Although currently I did not live in Harrow in that era and with both having relatives and acquaintances throughout the area and county, Ray and I would share much conversation in regard.
Ray, with great responsibility, certainly cooked many cans of the well-known Clark Pork and Beans and Soups. I in early years and later members of my crew under my supervision would keep the thirty retorts with their many valves, temperature controls etc. well maintained as we supplied the steam, water and compressed air from the Power House.
Sadly the Plant would be closed within a few years after acquisition by Green Giant of Canada. I would among a few be transferred by the Green Giant Company to other locations while most unfortunately many such as Ray would have to seek employment elsewhere.
The camaraderie with Ray has never been forgotten and on rare occasion after the plant closure and throughout the years our paths did fortunately cross whereby a few moments would be enjoyed reminiscing and speaking of our current lives.
Ray Is Certainly Never To Be Forgotten and May God Bless His Family
