Very sorry to hear of Fred's passing and my sincere condolences to his family. Although I moved from Harrow forty years ago, I remember Fred as a man anyone would love to have as a friend. A class person. We need more of them. RIP.

Aunt Ivey and other family of Fred,
Please accept our condolences over the passing of Fred. His life is an inspiration to all of us. He was a treasure of historical insight from his own ancestry and he lived through times which have changed - and which continue to do so, in part as a result of his influence. His encouragement for us to develop, maintain, and share this region's record through the Amherstburg Freedom Museum was always bolstered by the confidence he expressed in the effort he saw being devoted to it. In many ways, he has been, and continues to be a crucial part of that record.

It was such an honour to have known and taken care of this great man. His wisdom he imparted to us everyday, along with his jokes was inspirational.Fred always told us to take pride in whatever job we did and do it well. In his words..." If you can't be the moon, then be the best star you can be.....Promise to take care of Ivy like you asked us.Rest in peace......
