I, too, worked with Erna at the health unit, where she was held in high regard. Erna had all the qualities of a terrific nurse and was committed to serving her patients well. We had a special connection because I lived in Harrow at the time. In winter, I hated driving home when Howard and Walker Road were snow- covered and Erna always cheered me on.

I worked with Erna for many years at public health. She always had a smile on her face. One year at Christmas we exchanged Christmas presents among my nursing colleagues. Erna gave me a candle designed with the sweetest cherub. I have kept this candle in my living room all this time and I think about her every time I look at this candle. She was a great nurse. We were lucky to have her on staff.

I worked with Erna at the Health Unit. She was a very good Public Health nurse, very conscientious and dedicated. We got along well. In fact I think Erna got along with everyone! My sympathies and condolences to the family.

Dear Fred, Kathy, Alan and family,
I was with your mother just before Christmas and our visits were always enjoyable. She was such a calm person and seem very contented at Royal Oak. I know that she also loved having you close, Fred. it will be so hard on you now. May your own strong faith comfort you now.
Kathy, I realise that you have been so involved in recent years that it will be hard to know your mother is no longer near, but your memories will be good and while you and Alan live, her memory will be kept alive. She loved talking about you and her past and was always pleasant. May you know God's blessings of love and comfort at this time
