Obituary of Cobie Simonis

SIMONIS (nee Arnouts), Cobie Passed away surrounded by family on May 4, 2019 at 84 years of age. Late of Harrow. Beloved wife of the late Wim Simonis (2010) with whom she shared 55 years of marriage and friendship. Loving mother of Nick and Audrey Simonis (Jacksonville, FL.), Willem Simonis (Toronto), Coby Simonis (deceased), and Fred and Bernadette Simonis (Harrow). Much loved grandmother of Nicolaas and Claudia Patricia Simonis (San Antonio), Jason (deceased), Brendan and Ben (Harrow). Proud great-grandmother of Nicolaas Patricio and Lucca Santiago (San Antonio). Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Born in The Hague, The Netherlands, she and Wim emigrated to Canada in 1969 and worked hard to make Harrow a home for their family. Cobie worked at the Windsor Casino and enjoyed traveling with Wim in Europe and Singapore. Cobie had a special love of animals, especially for her German Shepherds and any other dog that would find their way into their welcoming home. She loved entertaining and was always there when someone needed a helping hand. One of her special joys was ballroom dancing with her husband. He could lead her around the dancefloor like no one else! She was very, very proud of all her grandsons and great-grandsons. Cremation has taken place. No visiting or service. The family will have a celebration of Cobie's life this summer. Arrangements entrusted to Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow.
