DEWAR, Brian John
It is with deep sadness that, after a love-filled life, the family of Brian Dewar announces his peaceful passing. With his loving family at his side, Brian lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 22, 2020 at the age of 72. Devoted and loving husband of 45 years to Kathie (Tessier). Cherished father of Sarah Dewar (Mark Dutka) and Lauren Dewar. Adored son of Rachel Dewar and the late William Dewar (March, 2020). Dearly loved brother of Diana Dewar (Les Fincham). Dear brother-in-law of Gary (Marian) Tessier, Brian Tessier, Lorri Tessier and Paul Kurek, Julie (Paul) Myers and Mark (Janice) Tessier. Predeceased by Kathie's parents. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Throughout his career, Brian was devoted to the auto industry. He knew cars and trucks like the back of his hand, especially anything to do with British sports cars. His expertise was immeasurable and called upon often. He had a particular love of Minis and was in the process of restoring a 1979 Austin Mini. Brian was immensely proud of Kathie and their two beautiful daughters and all they have accomplished. His family came before everything, and he would do anything to support them. His happy place was "The Beach" where he found great joy in entertaining their many treasured friends. He was a superb cook, and will be remembered for his many pig roasts, fish fries and barbecued pizzas. He was always researching culinary specialties that reflected his Scottish and Irish heritage and enjoyed "Scotland in a glass", as he referred to it. Helping others came naturally to Brian. He never hesitated to lend a hand, no matter what was needed. He loved and was loved. He will be sadly missed. At Brian's request, cremation has taken place.
