Dear Richard, Mrs. Buzzell, Mary, Sue,
Your family has been a part of our family’s story for as long as I can remember. I know that Dr. Buzzell was a friend and an inspiration to Robert who had the opportunity to work with him at the research station. We will be thinking of you and keeping fond memories in our hearts,

Dear Winnifred and Family:
I am very sorry to hear of Dick's passing.
I was somewhat in awe of Dr. Buzzell. He was a man of considerable reputation in the industry when I began my career as a plant breeder. He penned so many of the classic research papers on soybean genetics and breeding. He was well respected by the public and private sector across North America. We were honoured to have him as an industry colleague.
Dick had a very important role in the evolution of soybeans as a major crop in Ontario.
Our condolences to all of you. He was a talented and caring, softspoken man.

Dear Winnifred, Sue and Mary. We are very sorry to hear about Dick. He was a giant and pioneer in the Canadian soybean industry, especially in breeding and genetics. His contributions had a great impact on North America and the Orient. We all learned a lot from him and he was a very kind, quiet and brilliant man. I was so very very fortunate to have worked with him and have him as a mentor. Tom Welacky and family.

I felt fortunate to be able to work under the supervision of dicks kind and gentle manner. When he set up programs for me to do cross breeding of soybeans he did with such ease for me to do the work. He explained it so thoroughly and was always there if i encoucountered any issues. It was my pleasure to work with him for over 20 plus years. Between him and Roy Walker they made it easy to come to work and feel extremely grateful at the end of the day. Lloyd Boose
