This is a picture of our Uncle John with his 5th of 8.
His grand nieces and nephews brought him so much joy.
We loved watching him watch them play together.
Our Uncle taught me so much even though he didn't know he did.
Every good morning, I stop in the kitchen, before I take my coffee upstairs with me to my bedroom.
I look at his picture and toast my first sip of coffee to him remembering how he said "that first sip... it is so gooood." He had a very special way of saying the word good. He turned that word into something you could feel with his pronunciation and his smile. It was one of the many magical things he could do. Understated and thus cooler than words could describe was John Fabok. Our Uncle is more of a presence as a Guardian Angel in my life than I allowed him to be when he was alive. He reminds me when I listen, to remember to ask for help, to pause often, and to watch for beauty. The most important thing Uncle John exemplified for me was that not everything warrants a response and that silence and stillness can be just as powerful as words and action.
I miss our Uncle so much, but I am grateful for the vividness of the memory of watching him find complete joy in others' happiness... especially his nieces and nephews. In that regard, I remember him daily as someone who had what I want and thus accept that I must be willing to go to any lengths to achieve it.
With love and acceptance,
Jill

My prayers and sympathy go out to my Uncle Johns family and friends during this hard time. I wish I could have said goodbye to this special man who I admired as a child, although Uncle John never treated me as one. He always treated my sisters n I like little adults and wanted to spend time with us. He even taught us how to shoot pool with the patience of a saint. He also would drawl for us for hours while I just stared at him and his artwork amazed at the talent he had! Such an intelligent man who even taught his little dog cegon how to do these amazing tricks. (He loved that dog soo very much:) I just hope he knows how much I loved him and appreciated his kindness. I will be soo sad not to receive a Christmas card from him this year:( he always remembered me. You will never be forgotten Uncle John!

To my dear talented, kind, wise, and remarkable Uncle John, About 20 years ago you blessed me a piece of your amazing scripted artwork from the old St. Paul's Church, Baltimore Dated 1692. It is very special to me, which is still matted and framed hanging in my foyer cathedral spiral staircase and will be treasured in memory of you always and what you meant to me. Rest in peace I love you and wish I would of been given the opportunity to see you one more time to say goodbye.
