I knew Marg first, meeting her smile as one entered the Post office and later at a swimming pool. Harry was also a happy man though a little lost without Marg when he was at Harrowood. I remember him bringing his birdhouses up to our house and telling me where to put them for tiny birds to find a shelter easily. That kind of love for the birds was what impressed me. Thank you Harry for touching me that way as I am sure your strong Faith touched cubs and many children as well as friends.
We will remember you and your lovely family.
Our condolences are late but truly warm. May God comfort you all.

I thought Mr. Riediger was one of the kindest persons at the Harrow United Mennonite Church. Neither he or Mrs. Riediger made me feel like one of those Penner kids. I loved at my wedding in 1982 that they both attended, visiting with the 2 of them "at the outside" of the party bar. What a classy couple. I am sorry to see this era has passed. The old guard is gone. Harry and Marg were one of those couples I always felt safe with. I am sorry that they had so many trials in their lives. Not fair. I think of Harry and Marg and their children with many happy thoughts. You guys had a wonderful set of parents. BTW. Harry rocked that "new age" beard. Know that both Harry and Marg will remain in my thoughts and memories. Love and peace to all of you!

I thought I would share one of my best memories of Uncle Harry. I think I was 12 or 13, We were driving down the beach road at our cottage in the red datsun pickup. I probably asked about the shifter since it was a stick shift. I do remember Uncle Harry saying your XX years old and you don't know how to drive! At which time he pulled over and I was taught how to drive a stick shift. As I recall I managed to get into 3rd gear and accidentally drove a little bit past the cottage. I did manage to stop and Uncle Harry took back over and we made it home safely. That could lead to the story about going to Mennonite camp when we got pulled over, not sure if I was allowed to mention that one or not LOL

My condolences to the family. Mr Riediger originally, then Harry, was an inspiration to me in my youth and adulthood. From the Silver lake trips planting trees, to the collections of recycled appliances and furniture for the MCC and local thrift stores, to his interest in our lives. Always felt special when he asked how I was doing. To the original Harry Hydro, thank you.

Sending deepest condolences to all of the Riediger family. Harry was a great person ....generous and kind and I always loved to connect with him after a church service . He was genuinely interested and sincerely cared about the broader church family. He was a big supporter of Silver Lake Camp and how that camp was important for kids in their development.
He also was, as everyone is remarking, a resourceful collector of items that could be used somewhere.... someday.... I remember him saying there once was a used hardware store in downtown Harrow (can't think of the name) and he loved wandering up and down the narrow aisles, "You can find anything in there" he would say.. I think he would have loved to own that store..
Prayers and sympathies your way.... Glenn

To the Riediger family, I have always appreciated Mr. Riediger, now referred to as Harry in my adult years. My Dad often spoke of their travel adventures together. Conversations with Harry were the best; he always took genuine interest in other people's lives and he had a vast memory and broad knowledge of so many things. He truly lived his life to his utmost potential, especially in service to others. He is an inspiration.

Sending deepest condolences to the Riediger family. I have many fond memories of Harry and Marg growing up in the Harrow Mennonite Church. At our church yard sales Harry would always have the best ‘treasures’ and was the original vintage store. He was always kind and supportive to us kids.
