Lenehan Family
Our thoughts go out to your family during this difficult and sorrowful time. I first met Mike in 1988 while at OPC, and met him several more times over the years, at the same location. As we were both from Windsor, he seemed a little more interested in me and my career. I later found that he treated everybody equally, making all feel just a bit special. He was an awesome instructor, but as most know, he was a better person.
Mike truly will be missed by many, but the stories will not die. Prayers up.

To Cheryl, Sean, Patrick and families,
I worked with Mike several times during my career at WPF, later to be WPS. Mike always had a funny story or a quick take on a situation and was excellent at 'figuring out things' as he put it.
He was a great guy to work with and his humour made those dreary shift seem so much shorter than they actually were.
Mike obviously enjoyed the profession he acceded to and it was a great fit for the organizations as well. His moving on to the OPC seemed like a natural succession along Mikes professional time line. Educating Officers, while doling out his personal brand of observational humour must have been a much needed relief to those he provided instruction to. Rest in peace Michael.

Mike was a WPS icon! A complete pleasure to work with, his quick wit and fabulous sense of humour made the hours fly! He would visit the Comm Centre to fill us dispatchers in on the calls we sent him to, keeping us in stitches, and at the ready for more! He made a hard job FUN, leaving a memorable wake from his presence. I missed him when he retired but knew that OPC gained a wealth of experience and knowledge through Mike's hard work. How he imparted that onto his students is a benefit to ALL! To Mike's family, please accept my sincere condolences. His presence on earth will be greatly missed, although heaven has gained an angel (one with a wonderful sense of play!).

In 1994 the Windsor Police Service lost one of the good ones when Mike left. The beneficiaries as it turned out were the Ontario Police College and the many recruits who were fortunate enough to be one of Mike’s students. Dedicated,loyal,smart,witty, and just a genuine good guy are all adjectives that come to mind when I think of Mike. Mike. Truly one of the "good guys". (Those are very significant words in our policing culture world). He has been remembered by me until now, and will continue to be remembered fondly as such. We met on a drug course in the late 80s, talked on the phone for help with an invedtigation or two, and crossed paths in the 90s when we rewrote a training course dor General Investigators. Always time for a little giggle and his infectious smile. Many will Mrxh in the wake you set while blazing your path. Thank you Leni.

My first memory of Mike was the summer of 1968 at Ipperwash Army Cadet Camp. He was a coporal with the Windsor Regiment and an instructor for us cadets.He fashioned an award for the putz of the day using a hanger and a sink plug. I met him again in 1973 where we worked together for many years. His sense of humor continued and only got better.Fortunately I never had to wear the Idle Plug Award. Rest in Peace Mike
