How sad to hear of Phil's passing. Phil and Sherry were our first neighbours when we moved to this area. Our families grew up together and all of the Abbot family were instrumental in making our initial years comfortably special. Phil and Sherry always friendly and ready to lend a hand and more often than not doing helpful things for us without request. Many great memories of back yard activities and times travelling to sports competitions with our families. He loved being with people and was always on the lookout for ways he could extend help to others. So many great conversations with Phil over the years. He was always so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to share their accomplishments. He was a long time friend who really lived his life to the full. Many joys to be sure but struggles and suffering as well, and rarely with complaint. So many impressive accomplishments over his life but he never carried them with excessive pride or vanity. We will miss him to be sure, but he has raised his family with Sherry to carry on his legacy of honesty, kindness and compassion. Our condolences to all of the family.

To all of the Abbott families,
So sorry to learn of Phil's passing. I have many vivid memories of him at the Research Station when he worked for Wally Findlay and along side Russell Beaudoin. Phil had a very engaging laugh and he brought a lot of happy experiences to our place of work. He was a very valued colleague. My sympathies to all of you.

Mr. Abbott was truly a Harrow legend, and a amazing athlete, in hockey and baseball etc. ! I have pictures from the Harrow Sailors hockey days when my father, Fillmore Swarts, played hockey with Mr. Abbott way back in the day. I have put a few of his plaques & jerseys in the display case at the arena, and more to be displayed when we get more room ! I had a great visit with him when he gave me some old jerseys & memorabilia last year when Tommy dug them out of his attic ! Very sorry for your loss Tommy & Kelly and the family ...

Blessings to you Phil, been your niebhor for 15 years. You were always kind and loved to tell a story. Phil's favorite saying was I am on top of the world . My Condolences to Cheryl and Family. I have many great memories of Phil as a great friend and coworker of Dads
I have fond memories of
Dad taking us to Leamington Arena on Monday nights to watch Phil play for the Harrow Sailors and to the park in the summer to watch him play ball. I had the opportunity to watch him play slopitch in Calgary at the SPN nationals when they won the Gold Medal in their age group. Always enjoyed his company
