ABBOTT, Phillip Lawrence "Phil"

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 11, 2023 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 59 years to Cheryl (Rumble). Loving father of Tom (Kelly) Abbott and the late Tracey (2011). Loving grandpa of Cheyenne, Lauren and Michael. Dear brother Robert "Bob" (Debbie), Jeanne (Sam), Linda (Hilary), late Pat, late Sharon, late Florence, late Carol, late Dianne (late John). Dear brother in law of Ken (Dee), Wendy (Allan), Ricky (Kim) and Rick Hill. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Close friend of Bev and the late Joe Hilger. Phil retired in 1991 from the Harrow Research Station with 35 years of service. Phil coached many baseball and hockey teams in Harrow and Colchester South Twp. He won an all Ontario Baseball Championship with a juvenile team. Phil was avid hunter, played hockey and baseball for many years. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Thursday August 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Colchester Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Harrow & Colchester South Firemen's Association.
