SELTZER, Lois Elaine (Elliott)
Lois Elaine Seltzer, age 93, formerly of Stratford passed away peacefully at Chartwell Royal Oak Long Term Care Residence, Kingsville, on August 30, 2023. Lois was born in Stratford Ontario, November 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Samuel and Violet (Metcalf) Elliott. Lois attended Hamlet School in Stratford and as a child spent many Saturday mornings with Sam, her father, on his William Street milk route for Avon Dairies. As a teen-age girl, she loved figure skating and spent many hours at the arena skating with her cousin Marilyn (Elliott) Dodd. She and the love of her life Gordon Seltzer, were married at Zion Lutheran Church on September 5, 1948. They were happily married for 36 years living in Stratford, raising their family of 5 children before moving to Colchester, Essex County. Lois was an avid knitter over the years creating Mary Maxim sweaters for family and local clients. She loved company and always had the pot on if family or friends stopped by for a visit. Lois was predeceased by her parents, her husband Gordon (1984) and her brother Murray (2021). She is survived by her son Brad (Elsie), daughter Debra Cole (Jim), daughter Susan (Bonnie Lindsay), daughter Gini (Ron Buschman), son Jeff (Andrea), and her brother-in-law Harvey Hoffman. She is also survived by, and will always be remembered by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. You struggled to stay with us as long as you could Mom and you will always be remembered with love and fond memories. "Happy Anniversary, Mom," say "Hi" to Dad when you see him. Thanks, and praise is extended to Faye Seltzer. Your personal advice and assistance towards Mom's care has been a guiding light to us all. We also extend thanks to Doctor Peter Brooks for his care over the years. Thanks also to Manager, Janine Hamilton, PSW's and staff at Woodland Towers-Stratford, and to nurses, PSW's and staff at Royal Oak Residence-Kingsville for their personal attention to Mom's needs.
