Obituary of Jared Robert Burns

BURNS, Jared Robert

March 24, 1981 - January 7, 2024

Passed away suddenly on January 7, 2024 at the age of 42. Beloved husband of Jennifer Lynn (Martin). Cherished father of Ashlynn and Avery Burns. Loving son of Jerry and Faye Burns and Carl and Carolyn Martin. Dear brother of Julie (Les) Leck, the late Jessica Burns and Kristy Martin (Jeremy Winter). Loving and cherished uncle to Luke, Ben, William, Quintin, Julia and Joseph. Also remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and his companion Smokey. Jared worked for Vollmer Inc in Windsor and was a firefighter with Essex Fire and Rescue Service at Station 3 in Harrow. Jared was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions.  He enjoyed playing hockey and spending his time at his cottage in Haliburton. Visitation will be held at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow, ON on Thursday January 11, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church 120 Munger St. E Harrow, on Friday January 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
