Dawna and Lorne and family, I should have got to the funeral home had it not been for a bad cold that I did not want to spread. I remember talking with Joyce recently and it is hard to think none of us can do that any longer. As you know I remember Your mother from way back when you were at school,Lorne. She was always so involved in the church life and with her gifts of doing crafts so well. Your mother was one of the kindest,calmest people, I knew and she will be missed in the community as she will by the family. May God comfort you all, Jane

Reading of Joyces passing rekindles many old memories of growing up as neighbours of the Orvel and Bessie Waters family . Our family worked closely with Orvel and later shared many years together with Edward doing custom farm work .One of my first tasks as a very young child was to walk to the Waters home to purchase eggs which were under the watchful eye of "Grandma" Waters .As a young girl Joyce had the probably not so wonderful job of serving as our babysitter when our parents went out . I can recall when Joyce and Edward began dating and he drove a really "neat" Ford Coupe .Over the years I have enjoyed many visits and reminiscing sessions with Joyce at the steam shows or the Fair .We extend our condolences to Edward and the extended Hedges family, all very good folks.
