Roy Grant was one of the absolute nicest people most of us will ever have the pleasure of meeting and knowing . He was an important part of the Town when most people shopped locally for all of their needs . Roy was a man of good spirits, always friendly, helpful and interested in everyone . When you purchased a pair of shoes or had them repaired, you were always treated to a few stories laced with a smile and many laughs .You left happy and the better for your experience . He is among the last of a generation many of us knew who went off to war and returned without a "whimper" or a complaint .They made this world a better place and expected nothing in return but to see the "Better World" . Thank you Roy ;you were indeed one of the BEST !!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss - I remember a long time ago going to buy my shoes in his store and getting my sandals fixed. He was a friend of the family for longer than I can remember. God Bless you and give you comfort at this time.

Roy was a true gentleman. He pretty much adopted us when we became next door neighbours right after our wedding in 1979. The first thing he did was give me a tour of his meticulously organized garage, allowing me free access to anything and everything, anytime. A wonderful, caring man.

Pip, I'am not your grandchild, but you treated me as such. Always with a warm hello and firm handshake! I have good memories of talking with you as a young teenager. My fondest memory is the last time we seen each other. You were Living at Royal Oak, I was in town with my wife and son Reilly. Aunt Joann said you thought it would be good to see me. When my son and I went to see you the first thing you did was take Reilly for a ride on your wheelchair. The smile on both of your faces when you were coming back my way still brings such joy to me! Now i cant come to see you at your place.. Your gone to Jesus' place. I will see you again soon! RIP PIP, Brandon Meyer, Briannon Meyer, REilly Meyer and Zander Meyer

I truly enjoyed Roy's company and conversation when I worked at Fox's. He shared many stories of WW11 as my own father served overseas. Roy had a sunny disposition and always spoke so fondly of Pearl and his family. He certainly was a man of honour and integrity. I will miss him.
