Even though Ed probably never got the on-air credit he deserved, he was a big part of why "The Big 8" sounded so great, and he was highly regarded by others in his profession. No one has ever been able to exactly duplicate what he did at CKLW, though many have tried. My sympathy and condolences go out to the family and friends of Ed, and while his considerable talents will be missed, I'm sure that does not compare to the personal loss of a family member or friend. I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet Ed personally, I'd like to have thanked him for all the great memories that he was part of (though we never knew of his contribution at the time).
