Obituary of Edsel Smith

84 years. Went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 21, 2009. Late of Harrow. Beloved husband of the late Vivien Helen (Nolan) (nee Chickee) (1990). Loving father of Leon and Dianne Smith, (the late) Sylvester Smith, Virgil and Grace Smith, Gerald and Doris Smith, (the late) Douglas Smith and Brenda Smith, Dennis and Lynda Smith, Lorna and (the late) Phillip Huff, Paul and Lynn Smith, Timothy Smith, Lydia and Gary Sims, Pam and Anthony Handsor and Aaron Smith. Loving grandfather of Charles, (the late) Reggie, Benjy, Alainea, Byron, Cari-Lynn, Anthony, Calla, Jennifer, Michelle, Mark, Carmin, Phillip, Cathy, Randy, Ty, Nicole, Krystin, Ryan, Melissa, Jeffrey, Rachel, Issac, Aisha, Alexis, Aaliyah and a host of great grandchildren. Dear brother of Cecil and Joan Smith, Windsor, Joan, Mrs. Arnold Berry, Detroit. Predeceased by his brothers Virgil, Gerald and Garland. Dear brother-in-law of Florence and the late Randy Logan, the late Frank and Dorothy Nolan, Lloyd and Aurora Nolan, Delina, Joyce Gordon, Patricia and Clayton Quates, Warden and Joyce Nolan and the late Katherine Nolan. Also remembered by a host of relatives and friends. Edsel was a pastor for 64 years, 50 of which he served at St. Marks Evangelical Church in Colchester. Visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-9 p.m. with family hours from 7-9 p.m. at St. Marks Evangelical Church, 45 Draper St. Colchester. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 24, 2009 at Parkwood Gospel Temple 3005 Temple Dr. Windsor to visit until the time of a service to celebrate Edsels life at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wilbur Mulder officiating. Interment at St. Marks Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to St. Marks Evangelical Church or the charity of your choice.
