It would be a shame to observe John's Passing and omit any mention of a once great Institution in Harrow called "Ellenberger Hall" .For decades it was the centre of the social life of the community serving as the host to most weddings, anniversary celebrations and the weekly meetings of service clubs such as Rotary and Kinsmen . The food served was fantastic ,always either chicken or roast beef served "Country Style" .Large platters of meat, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables were placed on the tables . As guests were seated John Jr. announced that no platter was to be passed beyond the nearest cream & sugar bowl .Laughter invariably followed and the eating then began . The Ellenbergers were very hard working people, highly respected in the community and a visit to their Hall was always special . My condolences to the Family .
