Dearest family,
We are thinking of you during this time and wish we could see you in Ontario, especially for the funeral.
Uncle Walt was great and I loved watching how he, my mom Frieda and brothers Bill and Al would interact. There was much love and loyalty. Lots of spark!
Lots of love from Sonya in Winnipeg, and family Derek, Jackson and Kate

I was very saddened to hear the news of Walt's passing and my sincere condolences go out to Sarah,Jessica Kathy and brother Bill.
Walt was always a very fun uncle. I remember him coming to visit on Sunday afternoons and he would play ping pong or pool with my brothers (Al and Len) and I down in our basement. When we got called up for a snack he would always chase me up the stairs trying to catch me.
One memory that sticks out was when I watched him play hockey in Amherstburg. I was playing in a game that followed his game and I watched him skate in his 'Super Tacks' skates .. I thought those were the best skates and he was a great skater . Hockey was something we both loved and he played actively well into his later years.
He was a great person and I will miss him.

To the Block family: Walt will always be remembered at HMC from all those who knew him there. His humor, his smile and his caring for all his friends at HMC was felt by all. Personally he is remembered by his love for the "Beacon" and for his love of music. I have missed him these many weeks and I will remember him with love.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I drove Meals-on-Wheels with Walter over many years. I always enjoyed our trips together. At the beginning, I was new the county. He was always ready to explain things. And I was impressed at how he always kept active. I will miss him and always remember the diligent way he did things.
Sincerely,
Karl Feiler

Walt was like an extended big brother to me, as were his brothers Bill and Alfred. He used to kid me alot about being a "Schmaltzie". I didn't know exactly what that meant but it was said in jest and love so I lapped it up and thought it was cool.
In later years, whenever I came home to Harrow church, he made a point of asking me so sincerely, how things were going.
He was a very practical guy and early memories of him helping my Dad, Harry Block, 'landscape' the front yard. He tried pulling the little maple tree out with Dad's tractor and flipped it over.... the tractor not the tree! Walt must have managed to scramble away before it all came tumbling down on him. I know he did alot for the Harrow church with wood crafts which he was so great at.
Walt, I'll miss you brother.
Much love to Kathy, Jessica and Sarah and theirs. Bill, praying for strength and support.
lovingly
