Tony and Irene,
My deepest condolences on the passing of Maria. I have many fond memories of Maria, picking up vegetables from her farm everyday about 30-35 years ago.
A very kind, honest, hard working lady, always taking the time to chat and share a story. Rest in peace Maria !

So sorry for your loss, Sr.Maria was a lovely woman who treated me with kindness and respect. I enjoyed working for her in my younger years, and burying from the fruit stand as an adult. She always creates a fun work environment.

So sorry to hear of Maria’s passing. She was such a lovely lady and even after we moved to LaSalle when ever we would be in the area we would stop at the stand to say hello. She was always so happy to see us and hear about how our girls were doing. And when we wanted to buy something she would never want us to pay, no matter how hard we tried.Our girls Jana,Carla and Amy still remember playing with Irene at the farm,and folding boxes for Maria. The best to the family and special comfort to Irene.

When we think of Tia Maria we think of a very heroic woman who ran her own business after the tragedy of losing her husband. All by herself, she built a thriving business out of the farm left to her. She managed employees, purchased land, navigated the logistics of moving her product to local produce vendors and managed her fruit stand where she became a friend to many in the community. Tia Maria was very generous to those she loved and we will miss her laughter and smiles.

I used to stop to buy vegetables and fruit at Maria's store front. We always chatted a bit. Sometimes I got flowers from her. I remember her being unwell and at Harrowood for a while. She deserves to be with the Lord. Our condolences to all the family.
