SIMOES, Maria (Martins)

89 years. Passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved wife of the late José Dias Simoes (1973). Dear sister of Joao (late Aurinda) Martins, Portugal.  Predeceased by her brothers Arlindo (Eulalia), Armenio,  Sesinando (Ducilia), Fernando (Alda), her sisters Idilia, Mrs. Jose Simoes and Laura, Mrs. Ernesto Santos. "Second mom" and special aunt of Irene (Tony) Cappelli and their children Toni-Marie and Isabella. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Maria farmed all of her life and had Maria’s Fruit and Vegetable Stand on County Road 20 East of Harrow. She was also known for her energetic smile and generosity to the community. Visitation at GERALD A. SMITH FUNERAL HOME 197 King St. W. Harrow on Tuesday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church 120 Munger St. W. Harrow for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Rick Janisse officiating. Interment at Colchester Memorial Cemetery.
