To David, John’s Family, and Betty:
My heartfelt condolences. I got to know John through the Courtesy Cycling group. John was our leader for decades. He was social, active, and a born organizer. I have fond memories of John, with many shared stories, including cycling, current events, and his beloved politics.

Thinking of family and wishing all of you moments of peace and comfort as you remember loving John who was so close to you.
Words are inadequate at a time like this, but I wanted you to know how very sorry I am that John has passed away. The loss of a Father, Brother or Grandfather also best friend is a very tragic event. I cannot imagine the pain and grieving you are experiencing. It is times like this that our faith is put to the test. The Bible does promise: “Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted.” I pray that this will be especially true for you as you mourn john, your loss. I pray that God will give you the strength to see you through this sad and difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
We all Loved John and enjoyed his input also humor at our events and meetings of the Friends of Cedar, Mill, Wigle Creeks.
Betty, you were a Good Friend to John!
Peace and Comfort!

Betty, I know how much you made life fuller and more meaningful for John in his later years. I knew him as a kind man and a good father . He was always enthusiastic about the benefits of voting NDP too.
John befriended my daughter Sarah when she needed friends after her husband died; for that I am most grateful.
Both my husband and I hope you can take comfort from all you have done for John and David. I was so glad we met at Sun Parlour when I was there and John came in.
May God comfort you and David at this difficult time.

My deepest sympathies to John's family upon his passing. John had been a dear friend for many years - from our early encounters at the Research Station, our sailing adventures and later our shared social activities in Colchester. Despite so many obstacles in his life, John always seemed to find a way to remain positive and supportive of others. He was truly a unique and special person and will be missed by many.
