GORICK, William "Bill"

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on June 22nd, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving husband of 63 years to Gloria (Higgins). Cherished father of David (Cindy), Jeff (Teri), Glenn (Anita). Beloved Pa of Andrea (Tom), Jenna (Greg), Taylor (Steve), Davis and Spencer. Dear great Pa of Abby, Elody, Mack, Remy, Carter, Blake and Nash. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Mary Gorick and sisters and brother-in-law Jean (Keith) Clark (1994), Marion (Donald) Lee (2018) and brother-in-law Morley (Elinor) Higgins (2012). He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Bill was a kind, loving man who always put others first. He was tremendously proud of his family and faced many personal adversities with courage and humour. Serving God was paramount in his life, and he loved to sing Gospel music, with his final emotional vocal offering occurring on his 86th birthday. He also sang in the Church choir for many years. Bill was an avid golfer and was a member of Kingsville Golf course for 50 plus years. He was very well known for his story telling, jokes, warm hugs and infectious smile. Although his family and friends are broken hearted, we all rejoice that his passing was peaceful, knowing that he is Home. The family is very grateful to Dr. O'Callahan and the VON nurses for their wonderful and compassionate care. A special thank you to Rev. Darrow Woods for the many phone calls, visits and prayers. His calming presence brought great comfort and peace to Bill, Gloria and their entire family. A private family service was held followed by interment at Colchester Memorial Cemetery.
